Cherries For Gout
Eating cherries is a good way to regulate uric acid levels. You can also drink cherry juice made from fresh cherries.
Cherry extract is a powerful home treatment for gout and is a convenient and low cost way to obtain maximum benefits from the compounds in cherries.
Some extracts are more concentrated than others. For the best results try to get a cherry extract that is 500mg per capsule.
Apple Cider Vinegar For Gout
Many people find relief by drinking a mixture of apple cider vinegar and honey. It’s pretty nasty to drink but worth trying.
Mix the following ingredients into an 8 ounce glass of water and drink 3 times a day with meals
- 2 teaspoons raw honey (Optional – not recommended for diabetics)
- 2 teaspoons organic apple cider vinegar (Use an organic ACV which contains the “mother of vinegar”)
Another home treatment for gout using apple cider vinegar is to soak a cloth in undiluted ACV and wrap it around the affected area for at least 15 minutes.
Or you can immerse the toe or other affected area in a vinegar bath made by mixing 1 cup (250 ml) of ACV into 3 cups (750 ml) of water.
Specific gout formulas are also available which can offer relief during an attack.
